Biography of Y Basss

Olayomi Johnson Oluwasogo, Popularly known by his stage name YBass was born in May 9, 1999. He is a striving Nigerian Hip Hop Artist from Osun state. He records mostly in Yoruba, his native tongue. YBass started his musical career in 2011 during his JSS days in school and his first album was “Omo Ghetto”. Unfortunately, since then he had no money to record another song till 2017 that he dropped “Saye Tiwa”.

“Saye Tiwa” brought a lot of blessing to him then. Indeed! It is a blessing in disguise. This same song led him to a record Label named Bisrokky Entertainment. They were three Artists in that Label which they dropped a hit track for the Label titled “Ojoro” by Daddi × City man × YBass. After that, the Label decided to stop their work on the song “Saye Tiwa”.

YBass dropped Four songs for that Label titled “All For You”, “U & I”, “Gee Boy” and “Thank The Lord”. These were the Singles he dropped for them. Recently, there was a challenge between him and Bluebite who is also an Upcoming Artist and YBass won. His songs were played on Stride Radio on the 2nd of June. His first Radio station interview was held on 9th of June and the Radio station is Stride Radio. Another song is on the way which he wants to feature Kennywise. Watch out for it!!!
His songs are on Audiomark: @Naijatrend and @Naijagablog.

Some Questions are in your minds unanswered that Didn’t he face any challenges? What was the Challenges? Yeah! He faced alot of challenges. What you have to do is to scroll down and read more about his lifestyle till now.

YBass was born into the family of Olayomi. He is the third born of Mr and Mrs Olayomi. His Father’s name is Olayomi Moses Kembi while his Mother’s name is Akande Beatrice Olufunke. He attended both Primary and Secondary school at Osogbo in Osun state but For his Tertiary education, YBass attends the Polytechnic of Ibadan where he is studying Mass communication Presently.

When he was in Secondary school then his Classmates who are in music line told him not to sing Hip Hop that he should go for Fuji or Juju songs but he refused and faced his career in music because he knew to make it in life is not a day job.

The song “Omo Ghetto” was written by him and his friends who underrated him to take the Chorus. Though, they knew God bless him with the talent because he was Once a Choir but People wanted to mislead him. Some even said he is funny that he should stand up for Comedy show. To the extent that some would laugh at him whenever he was singing then but that did not bother him.

One important thing that has helped YBass to stay focus in his musical career is his ability to stay away from Critisms and Discouragements from Friends and Families. These are the things that give him inspiration to write songs anytime at anywhere.

His recent song which he was featured by Tee Won Eleniyan titled “Ibi Ire” produced by Lincoln is currently trending on Netbreeze NG, check it out
